Goodbye South Dakota
Ended up staying 2 nights in Spearfish, SD. Nice place. Jana and I agree that we could live there. Small town feel with around 10000 people and lots of outdoor activities to do and just has a cool feel to the town. OH and they have Golden Griddle Syrup at the local supermarket. They close of main street and have a live band playing on Friday nights. We had to try the Fried Cookie Dough. It was good.
We made our way to Devils Tower today. Got there early before the heat and the mass of humans arrived. We took a guided tour hike around the entire tower. It was definitely worth the side trip to see it. We are staying the night here and hope to see the supermoon and maybe some aliens tonight.

It looks like you are having so much fun. It is so nice you are sharing your trip with us. We are so excited for you to be able to take this adventure. We spent 3 days in Spearfish. It is an awesome place. Spearfish falls is beautiful and there is a place where they filmed the end scene of Dances with Wolfes. Don't forget to go to the Reptile place if you can swing it. Your kids would love it. Bear Country is also fun but pricey.
