Douglas- Chadron- Rushmore-Deadwood

I entered the black hole of internet access the last couple days...thought this was 'merica? Crossed into Nebraska on Monday and headed for Chadron State Park. I got a short ride in on their trail system which was pretty lame. Kids and Mom got in some swimming pool time while Dad cleaned the RV. The girls found a new friend and were up late playing.

We stayed one night and headed for KOA, we where all super excited about the Mt Rushmore KOA. ON our way we first stopped at Wind Cave National Park, Very cool cave and all around good place for the kids. We too the Cave tour and Cade was the life of the party singing super loud to hear himself echo in front of 30 strangers. We then stopped at the Crazy Horse monument. A work in progress chiseling a ginormous Indian riding a horse out of a mountain. Pretty cool but very pricey to get in. So on to the biggest baddest KOA around... Its basically a small city, which means dirty bathrooms, and showers with trailers stacked 5 feet from each other. And no internet access. We had planned on staying 3 nights but I couldnt think of staying another day so we checked out and headed to Mt Rushmore.

Mt Rushmore was pretty cool. We stayed most of the day there. Cade fell asleep in the backpack on the trail hike and slept in the motorhome for a while. We ended up in Deadwood for the night. Took the shuttle downtown for dinner. Mix Wendover with Park City and you have Deadwood. The motorcycle presence here is heavy so that brings in some fine folks. Devils Tower tomorrow. We are a couple days ahead of schedule already..we have yet to find a place where we wanted to stay too long yet.
