Lighter shoes- picked up a pair of Saucony Peregrine Trail shoes. At 10 oz these will shed 2 oz per shoe off my Brooks Cascadia. My cadence is usually around 90 so that is 360 oz per minute and over a 10k these shoes will save my legs from lifting over 1000 lbs on race day. My math right? Lets hope they agree with my feet....

I don't know how much a few ounces really matter. My fastest time up Grandeur Peak was in Cascadias, not my MT10os, which are 5 ounces lighter per foot. Still, I always choose the lighter shoes because they feel nice and quick.
I love the idea of the Peregrine, but they're too narrow for my mutant toes. If they fit you, they should be great. If they don't, you might want to check out the Montrail Rogue Racer.
