solitude surprise

I did the Solitude race Tuesday because it was damn hot and the 20 degree drop in temp and good friends waiting at Solitude was too hard to say no to. I hadnt done anything intense for 3 weeks so I expected to be super flat and get worked over, but I had a good race and did my best time of the year finishing 4th. Next week its back to the crits, so I hope it cools off just a bit.

The SLC-SG ride has been postponed...again, for reasons out of my hands so thinkin maybe later in the year, but I'll be amped for CX and probably wont want to do long easy miles. We will see, its only been in the works for about 6 years now, whats another year? I figure it will cost me $160 for gas to have the wife come get me and another $120 for hotels right now anyway.

Anyone know if the Tour of Utah Cat 2 crit is gonna happen Aug 15th? CAnt find a lick of info anywhere.

No TofU crit. City street crews put the nix on it. There is the Snowbird Hillclimb on Saturday, though. You can even do the second leg to the top of the mtn on your mtb.

SG-SLC needs to happen. You'd just need one minivan with a bike rack and a driver. Then you and four friends would be off on a 300-mile adventure.

I'm planning the same trip in the spring and plan to follow US 89 from border to border with a night in Panquitch and another in Nephi or Manti or someplace like that.

i hope you learn a lesson, one, that rest is why you went faster.
you know this in your head but fight it.

two,
you dont need week after week month after month of hammering and racing to be fast.

some of my best days came months after i had given up on training.

just rode and said WTF.

sly- it really was an eye opener, too bad BZ, Alex and Spannring are just too damn fast.

SLC-SG does need to happen. I have all the ingredients but the willing and able friends to join me.
