ahh the dog days of winter

Let me be the first to say it....WINTER BLOWS!! Yeah all you skiers and snowboarders I said it. Year after year I try to enjoy it, I buy a snowboard and learn to ride, I think positive thoughts about riding indoors or out in the cold but its all for nothing. Winter sucks- trapped in your house because a- its too damn cold b-its dark at 5pm or c- the inversion is so bad your better off smoking a pack of Camels. Having kids just makes it that much worse cause now your stuck with restless rascals with very limited entertainment options.

So I plan on taking lots of weekend trips to St.George to hang with smarter folks who have found a way to make it work down south.

Anyone as excited as me about this weekends cross double header with rain and cold in the forcast? I know DH is ready

Blasphemy! Do you have a board? I got an extra I will give you if you actually start going. Nothing like hiking a 11,000 ft peak to keep the fitness and bombing powder runs in return. Why live in the SLC then?

Aren't you the one who said "Cross is the *$@!" not too long ago?! If so, this weather should put a smile on your face and fill you with eager anticipation for your next training ride or race in the rain, snow, mud and/or freezing temperatures for which cross racers express such undying love and devotion.

I agree with your current post, however, and like you plan on spending as much time as possible this fall/winter/spring down south.

Racing in crap is OK but training and living in crap is a different story. I can handle 60 minutes all out in a blizzard anyday but 4 hours on the road in crap isnt my cup of Red Bull.

Forrest- I'll wax up the Burton and chase the spiders out of my boots.

Amen! Winter blows (ice cold air!). I guess if I were into backcountry skiing or boarding like forrest it would be different.

The only thing that takes the edge of is cross country skiing. I like to go up American Fork Canyon - if there is enough snow they groom the Little Mill campground road. I go up there after work with a headlamp and do 2 out-n-backs for a 6 mile workout. It's a bit spooky in the dark, but it feels good to breath fresh air and do something aerobic.

But for sure I'm into taking cycling trips down south to keep me sane.

I'm with you...let me know when you head south. On the other hand, forrest...I'm with you, pretty psyched for that and the 5 AM dawn patrols. Except all on Tele's.
