Ogden Valley
Tri. No less than 500 people showed up for the Sprint distance
Tri. I took the first heat off in the swim with at least 100-200 guys all fighting for position and air...insane. I
didn't get kicked in the face but felt like I was swimming in bodies. I came out of the water pissed and back 5 minutes, I didn't have a good swim because I really
couldnt get in a
rhythm. T1 was slow I
couldn't get my wet suit unzipped,
luckily a volunteer at the top of the climb to the transition area could see my struggle. I did well on the bike with the
fastest time of the day. T2
wasn't bad but that means the run is next. I cant run
fast, coming out of the bike I was 2
nd in my heat, I went backwards fast as 5 guys caught me. I had it coming after blowing past them on the bike. I managed to hold onto 2
nd in my age group and 20
th overall.
These
Tri geeks know how to put on a race, check out all the John's. And portable water/cleaning stations for your hands. This
tri thing is getting HUGE, this place was packed. If only cycling could get this big. We are lucky to get one John at a local race.

I went trail running again today. I never knew how damn much going down can hurt. I thought my knees were going to self destruct if I didnt compound fracture my ankle first..again.
Welcome back Sly! Hand over the juice!

ET,
Check out my blog for a picture of your happy mug coming out of the water. Good job for a non-running bike racer.
