I pulled the plug on the State TT and signed up for the Sundance MTB. I need some redemption for my lackluster performance at the Draper disaster. I was flying on my second and third lap so hopefully I just needed to blow out the cobwebs before the race rather then drive across Utah. No major projects this week at the house so I should be good for Saturday. I have never done Sundance and actually dont even know where it is.... The Epic needs to go on a diet. Sly's Cannon weighs 4 lbs less than my Epic. 4 lbs is a lot.
I think I have caught the MTB racing bug again. I have thoughts of racing the NORBA in 2 weeks but that means I gotta get another license unless I can do a one day. Anyone know if that is possible? My last NORBA lisence was probably for the Beginner class back in the early 90's before front suspension and everyone wore a fanny pack.

I'm rolling up Millcreek to check out the trails today after work. I am thinking they are good to go. I'll have the scouting report with photos tomorrow....I'll probably start at the gate around 4 if yer bored. I'm off the Quiznos for some Tuna action!
Here is last year late June on the 1 speed.

Last time I checked you needed a full Norba license to race anything besides beginner, I could be wrong though. Glad to see the dirt bug get you! Sundance is awsome, brutal climbs with sweet alpine singletrack! The views aren't bad either!
The Mountain Rider add-on is an extra $30. You can buy it online at usacycling.org. Just login to your account then click 'My USA Cycling' in the left sidebar then click 'Purchase New License' at the bottom of the page.
You could probably shave more than four pounds with a hardtail. If you really want to go light, maybe you should ride a single speed with no water bottles. That would be sweet.
you need to throw the watts in the big ring on a hardtail! yaaaaaa!!!!!
i just might have to pick one up.
DH
expert or above requires annual license, can't race expert unless meeting qualifications, which means racing SPort at DV, which would be fun for you to destroy people. That is the lone problem with Ed's series being usacycling free, when you want to race the national.
It would be a good way to get a starts and stripes jersey though.
It is not sandbagging if they won't let you race in the proper category is it?
