Big Weekend

Of course with the first race of the road season tomorrow, I finally get the cold my poor pregnant wife has been battling for a week. So now its breathing through my mouth all night waking up every hour with cotton mouth, gotta love that. No excuses though, some of my best races or days on the bike have been while battling a cold. As long as it stays in my head I should be aight.

Hell of the North tomorrow and to be honest I am nervous, but I just keep telling myself, it's just a bike race". To put life in perspective my best friend growing up just had a baby last week. She was 2 months premature and weighed in at 1.5 pounds and about a foot long. Now that puts my little race nerves way back on the richter scale. I cant imagine the worry I would be going through if she was mine. I was a mess with our 2 healthy 7 pounders. I wish him, his wife and little Lucy the best. It looks like she will be in the ICU for 2 more months but everything looks good so far. Technology!!

Then we got Easter on the bill for Sunday. It really is fun again when you have little ones. I enjoy it more now than I did as a kid by far. My girls love the Easter egg hunt and have been excited about the bunny visit for a couple weeks now. I hope the wife has gotten them something, because their slacker Dad hasnt done a thing.

And to top it off 70 degrees and sun all weekend long, cant beat that!

Its amazing how situations either big or small in ones life helps you realize what is truly important and what isn't. Best of luck in the A.M. at the race.
