What an amazing day to be out on the bike! Rolled from the $tarbuck$ a9am and headed south, we had a big group, probably a good 12 guys and gals. By the time we hit the UC we could tell it was gonna be a warm winter day as everyone started to peel layers. It had to be in the 50's. We got the tail wind coming back which was nice.
Coming into Sandy we usually take 7th East which is just destroyed with construction everywhere, I am feeling good putting down the watts at the front of the pack when out of my left comes a little silver car turning right into me....I just got hit by a car, I am thrown a good 10 feet and land on my backside. F-burn who was behind me slams into the back of the car. I sit on the pavement in awe that I am not hurting anywhere, I feel fine other than I just got hit by a car and the adrenaline is rushing. I just sat there and though how lucky I was, I could have been much worse. So we call the police and get a report filed so I can get some cash to fix up my mangled bike. Its was OK enough to ride back which was only a 15 minute ride from that point. I have gone 28 years 5 months and 7 days without getting taken out by a car lets hope it will be that long until the next time!
So my knee is killin me and my a$$ hurts but I'll live to see another day. And that Asiago cheese bagel from E-stiens tasted soooooooo good. I wonder how the boys did at Wheeler today? I bet DH is still on his bike.
Anyone heading to Vegas in January for the Stage race? I'm thinkin about it.....

So the car didn't see a group of 12 cyclist and turned right into the front of the group?! That's just crazy. I'm glad to hear you and F-burn are ok. You guys are pretty lucky.
UT drivers are the worst..glad to hear you are ok.
ET,
Glad you and Greg are OK. Dave gave me the play by play and it sounds like it could have been much worse. It's good when I have more damage to me from my 5 crashes in Saturday's cross race than you had after getting hit by a car.
I think 7th is off the approved ride list until the construction is done.
