Photo stolen from FlahuteLuck was my friend yesterday as I battled back from 4th to take the win at the Canyons Cross race. My first win on a cyclocross bike.

We started up a paved hill and I was sitting 3rd behind Ali and DH, Ali began to pull away from us all on the first lap and I figured we were racing for 2nd when Reed and Alex from Contender started putting on the heat, they eventually passed and I was sitting 4th and hurting. I finally started to get in a groove and learned the course and how to go fast and slowly started to bring back Reed and Alex. At about the same time Ali flatted and it was us 3 at the front, I knew it was time to give it my all and stay smooth. With 4 to go my left calf started cramping and a lapped rider crashed in front of me so the lead was back to nothing, with one to go Alex was hot on my tail. I heard him go down in one of the courners and killed myself to establish a gap before the run up section and hammer to the finish. I think I'll put the prize money on black this week in Vegas.
I wonder how Crispy did in Michigan?
