MTB in the Snow is FUN

The Snow HARDtail in its natural habitat
I put the hurt on the Shorline/Sly's Turf/the U-sual trail yesterday afternoon. I was a beautiful thing. I parked at the Zoo and rode to the top of Dry Creek. It was the most fun I have had on a bike in a while. I was sweating so bad climbing Dry Creek I had to shed my beanie, gloves and unzipped the jacket. I was frozen within 5 minutes and had to put the gloves back on. Riding in the snow is much different from dirt. At all times you must put most of your weight on the back wheel, use your rear brake more, and let that front tire track. I rode everything in the snow, it didnt slow me down until I had to go down. I didnt see more than one set of MTB tracks which surprised me. Nothing but chics and dogs.

The only problems I had were the XTR rear der and the Ultegra cassette were not getting along very well, it could have been the cold or the snow but they just didnt like each other and the poor chain got in the middle of it.
